    Asking Questions#

Meetric AI understands natural language, so you can ask questions as you would to a colleague. No special syntax or commands required.

    Types of Questions#

Here are the main categories of questions Meetric AI can answer:

    Factual Retrieval

Find specific information mentioned in conversations

"What was the pricing discussed in yesterday's call with Acme Corp?"
"Who said they would follow up on the API integration?"
"What are the main pain points mentioned by customers this month?"

    Summarization

    Get summaries across multiple conversations

"Summarize all demo calls from last week"
"What were the key takeaways from Q1 customer calls?"
"Give me an overview of product feedback from recent meetings"

    Comparison

    Compare and contrast information

"How do the requirements from Client A differ from Client B?"
"Compare the objections raised in sales calls this month vs last month"
"What's the difference between how enterprise and SMB customers describe their needs?"

    Trend Analysis

Identify patterns and changes over time

"What topics are coming up more frequently in support calls?"
"How has customer sentiment changed over the past quarter?"
"Are we seeing more pricing questions than before?"

    Action Items

    Track commitments and follow-ups

"What action items are assigned to Sarah this week?"
"List all pending follow-ups from Q1 meetings"
"Show me overdue action items from sales calls"

    Crafting Better Questions#

While Meetric AI understands natural language, more specific questions yield better answers:

    Too Vague
    ✗"Tell me about customers"
✓"What are the top 3 pain points mentioned by enterprise customers in Q1?"

Specific criteria and timeframe help Meetric AI focus the search

    Unclear Scope
    ✗"What did we talk about?"
✓"What were the main topics discussed in calls with Acme Corp?"

Defining scope (specific customer) makes the answer more relevant

    Missing Context
    ✗"What's the status?"
✓"What's the status of the integration project based on recent engineering meetings?"

Adding context helps Meetric AI understand which conversations to search

    Pro Tips:
    • Include time ranges when relevant ("last week", "Q1 2024")
    • Mention specific people, companies or topics to narrow results
    • Ask follow-up questions to drill deeper - Meetric AI maintains conversation context
    • Use "why" and "how" questions for deeper analysis

    Real-World Query Examples#

Here are proven query patterns from successful Meetric users:

    Sales Manager
"Which objections came up most frequently in lost deals this quarter?"
Use case: Identify coaching opportunities for sales team

Use case: Prioritize product roadmap based on customer feedback
    Customer Success
"Show me conversations where customers mentioned considering competitors"
Use case: Proactive retention and competitive positioning
    Support Lead
"What technical issues were escalated from tier 1 to tier 2 this week?"
Use case: Track escalation patterns and training needs
    Executive
"Summarize key themes from all investor meetings in Q1"
Use case: Board reporting and strategic planning

    Context & Conversation Selection#

Meetric AI can search across all your conversations or focus on specific ones. Understanding context helps you get more precise answers.

    Global vs. Contextual Queries#

    Global Mode

    Search across all accessible conversations

When: For questions across your available conversations, without a specific conversation selected or open. Your permissions and active filters still apply.

    Contextual Mode

    Focus on specific conversation(s)

When: Automatically activated when asking from a conversation page

You can switch modes or specify context in your question:

    Example Context Specifications
    # Global search
"What are common objections in sales calls?"

    # Specify timeframe
"What are common objections in sales calls from last week?"

    # Specify people
"What did Sarah discuss in her calls with enterprise customers?"

    # Specify company
"Summarize all conversations with Acme Corp"

    # This conversation only
"What action items were mentioned in this call?"

    Using Filters#

On mobile Home, open Filters beside Sources. Applied filters appear as removable chips. You can select several options in a filter list. The filter window stays open until you select Apply filters or close it. Apply filters to narrow Meetric AI's search scope:

    • Medium: "video meetings only", "email threads", "chat conversations"
    • Privacy: "only open conversations", "include private conversations I own"
    • Conversation Type: "only discovery calls", "renewal conversations"
    • Owner: "owned by me", "calls owned by Alex"
    • Company: "from Acme", "only enterprise accounts"
    • Team: "from support team", "sales pod conversations"
    • Date Range: "in the last 30 days", "since January", "Q1 2024"
    • Department: "in sales calls", "from support team", "engineering meetings"
    • Topics: "calls mentioning onboarding", "conversations about pricing"
    • AI Fields: "where churn risk is high", "field value is competitor_x"
    • Trackers: "tracker shows discount request", "mentions procurement delay"
    • Saved Views: "use my QBR view", "run Ask with existing advanced filter sets"
    Meetric AI with context filters
Refine Ask context with meeting, AI, time, owner, company and saved-view filters

    Sources and Active Filters#

On Home and in AI chat, Sources appears to the left of the icons, including on mobile. Video, phone and in-person icons show conversation counts for the current filters; CRM opens companies. Select an icon to inspect its sources. Hover or focus to see exact totals when counts are shortened. Schedule counts all available past and future meetings in your connected calendar. This covers events available through the calendar integration, not a complete lifetime calendar archive. Email shows accessible imported threads when available. Zero-count sources are grey; zero does not mean disconnected.

    • Home and full-page chat: Select a source icon to choose conversations, then Apply. Selected counts appear on the corresponding icons. Filters and Prompts remain beside the source controls.
    • Contextual AI panel: Use its compact source and filter controls, including Add context. Check the active sources and filters before sending your question.
    • Active filters bar: displays currently applied filters as removable chips.
    • Clear filters: use chip clear actions or clear-all to broaden scope quickly.
    • Hover over a disconnected Schedule or Email icon, or activate it by touch or keyboard, to open its connection link in Integrations. Schedule is not connected until you connect a Google or Microsoft calendar. This also sets up the notetaker; its settings control which meetings it joins. Failed checks show unavailable. Previously imported emails remain accessible after disconnecting.
    • Select a connected Schedule icon to open the same schedule view used on Home, with upcoming-date filters and the past 14 days. It opens as a modal on desktop and a full-screen view with Back on mobile. Closing it keeps your current chat and draft. Schedule events are not added to selected conversations.
    Chat source icons and counts
Sources groups the channel icons and counts on the left of the composer
Ask active filters and filter conversations panel
Active filters are shown as chips and map directly to the filter panel configuration

    Prompts Library#

On mobile Home, open Prompts beside Sources. Insert keeps you on Home to edit; Send starts the chat. Use Prompts Library to run reusable prompts without rewriting the same query each time.

    • Stored prompts: create personal/team/department/account scoped prompts.
    • Insert: place a prompt into Ask input for edits before sending.
    • Send: run a prompt immediately in Ask.
    • Contextual vs All spaces: switch between prompts tied to current context and global prompts.
    Prompts Library modal in Ask
Prompts Library supports stored prompts, generated prompts and one-click insert/send actions

    AI Chat History#

Return to previous chats from the sidebar or from inside a chat.

    • New chat: Start a separate chat from the desktop sidebar or mobile Menu.
    • Pinned and Recent: Return to chats from the desktop sidebar. Recent shows up to four other recent chats.
    • Search: Select the search icon beside Recent to find older chats.
    • Chat history: Inside a chat, use the Chat history button in the header to open previous chats.
Note: Select Unpin sidebar to collapse the menu. Select the logo or an empty part of the compact sidebar to expand it. Apps and chats share the expanded sidebar; use the search icon beside Recent to open chat history.
Note: Select Workspace at the bottom of the desktop sidebar to open account controls in a floating panel beside it. App links and chats stay visible, and the sidebar keeps its expanded or collapsed state. Select Workspace again, press Escape, or click outside the panel to close it. Change your theme in Settings → Profile → Theme.
