Conversations Page - Product Documentation
This document describes the updated Conversations page, its three default views, and how users create, save, and manage custom views.
Overview
The Conversations page gives users a flexible way to browse their conversations. It comes with three predetermined default views and allows users to create their own custom views by adjusting filters. Custom views can be saved, named, and marked as a favorite so they persist as the default view across sessions.
Default views
When a user opens the Conversations page, three predetermined views are available:
| View | What it shows |
|---|---|
| My conversations | A filtered view where the owner is the current user. This is the default selected view. |
| My team | Conversations owned by people within the user's team. |
| Everyone I can see | All conversations the user is able to see. |
🔒
Visibility in My team and Everyone I can see is always limited by the organisation's privacy settings. A tooltip surfaces this: "Visibility is limited by your organisation's Privacy settings — you'll only see what those rules allow."
Custom views
Users can create their own views by adjusting the filters.
Creating a custom view
- Open the Filters panel and make any change (for example, changing the Source, or filtering by user or department).
- As soon as a filter is changed, a new view labeled Custom appears. It is marked as unsaved with a small indicator icon.
- The custom (unsaved) view remains active while the user works with it.
Saving a custom view
There are two ways to open the Save as a new view dialog:
- Click the unsaved indicator icon on the Custom view, or
- Click Save as a view.
In the save dialog, the user can:
- Name the view (e.g.
Test). - Mark the view as a favorite.
Once Save view is pressed, the named view appears in the left-hand list.
Favorite views
- Marking a view as a favorite (Starred) makes it the default view of the Conversations tab.
- This means when the user navigates to another part of the platform and returns, the favorite view is pre-selected.
- The view stays the default until the user removes it as a favorite or deletes the view.
- Only one view can be a favorite at a time. If the user creates another view (e.g.
Test 2) and marks it as a favorite, it becomes the new favorite and the previous view is automatically un-favorited.
Behavior of unsaved custom filters
If a user applies a custom filter without saving it:
- The Custom (unsaved) view remains in place even if the user clicks between the default views (My conversations, My team, Everyone I can see).
- It persists until the user either:
- leaves the page or navigates to a different part of the platform, or
- clears it using the remove/clear control.
💡
Summary: Default views cover the most common needs out of the box. Custom views let users tailor and save their own filtered views, and a single favorite view controls what loads by default on the Conversations tab.
